OVERVIEW
This Omega is estimated to date from the 1930s, and the movement production year identified by its serial number is 1934. Nnwtimepieces.com
The mirror sector dial, reflecting the distinctive design aesthetic of the 1930s, combines geometric track divisions and Roman-numeral hour indexes to reveal a refined sense of balance. The small seconds subdial positioned at 6 o’clock adds visual stability and completes a classic layout in the chronometer style of the period. The spotted patina across the dial surface naturally and honestly shows the inherent traces of a vintage piece that has passed through the years without artificial restoration.
The hour, minute, and small seconds hands fully retain their original leaf form, but pronounced oxidation and rust have developed across their surfaces. This is a natural aging characteristic of original hands that have not undergone chemical cleaning or repainting, and together with the dial’s spotted patina, it creates a balanced vintage condition.
Born during the transitional period from pocket watches to wristwatches in the 1930s, the Omega reference CK 793 embodies the Art Deco design of an era when the formal foundations of early dress watches were being established. Its multifaceted case, crafted from Staybrite stainless steel—a material then beginning to be adopted by the watch industry—provides corrosion resistance while clearly expressing a geometric silhouette. Inside is a Cal. 26.5 SOB T2 movement produced in 1934, which established the standards of Omega's early manual watchmaking, giving it clear historical value as an interwar Swiss mechanical timepiece. The reference CK793 case, made in the 1930s, was crafted from early Staybrite stainless steel, a material that was beginning to be adopted by the watch industry at the time. The hexagonal-style case, surrounding the circular bezel and featuring chamfered corners, clearly displays the faceted forms characteristic of the Art Deco era. In addition, Fixed lugs, in which the strap pins are integrally fixed to the middle case, are used at both ends of the case, fully preserving the classic construction of early 1930s wristwatches. At the 3 o’clock position on the side, an unsigned flat coin-edge crown consistent with Omega manufacturing specifications of the 1930s sits naturally with the restrained silhouette of the faceted case. There are traces of tool contact from past inspections around the snap-on caseback joint and opening notch. The brand marking inside the caseback, stamped over the perlage pattern on the inner surface, has been preserved without damage. The stainless steel marking and serial number inside the caseback likewise remain fully legible, without wear.

The fitted movement is the original Omega Cal. 26.5 SOB T2, a reliable refinement of the compact manual caliber measuring 26.5 mm in diameter that debuted in 1926. With a 15-jewel design and a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour, it is a standard manual-wind movement that contributed to the reliability of Omega wristwatches in the 1930s through its straightforward bridge layout and small-seconds train. This watch has been serviced under The Left Watch’s inspection. Recorded measurements are a daily rate of +10 seconds, amplitude of 275°, and beat error of 0.3 milliseconds. These readings document the inspection result rather than guaranteeing identical performance in every wearing position or state of wind.
